Our roots trace back over 100 years to the Prices Patent Candle Company - once part of the Shell Oil empire. When Shell exited the candle business in 1969, National Candles was born. Since then, we’ve been lighting homes, businesses, and sacred spaces across Aotearoa New Zealand with candles of a quality that are made to last.

Traditional Techniques:
Craftsmanship lives at the core of everything we do. Our Wellington team uses heritage tools and age-old methods to pour, finish, and pack each candle by hand. The result is a candle range that’s rich in tradition, care, and quality.
Majella:
Majella is one of our most traditional ranges, made using the ancient ‘drawing’ technique - a slow, layering method, once reserved solely for church candles. First crafted in 1938, Majella candles offer unmatched performance and a textured composition and timeless beauty.
